The objectives of the Hawaii Island Portuguese Chamber of commerce are:

To promote the economic well-being of the people of the County and State of Hawaii;

To promote commerce, industry, and agriculture throughout the County and State of Hawaii;

To develop trade and commerce between the Counties, State, the Continental United States, and foreign countries;

To foster just and equitable  principals in commerce;

To advance the understanding of and appreciation for our free enterprise system;

To acquire, preserve, and disseminate business information;

To encourage cooperation between business and professions;

To aid in the passage of beneficial legislation;

To inspire civic responsibility and active involvement in community affairs;

To support education and the arts, and especially inspire persons of Portuguese ancestry to strive for excellence in education, business, and community endeavors;

To urge persons of Portuguese ancestry of all ages to understand, appreciate, and further the culture, music, and the arts of their forbearers;

To encourage the preservation of the unique and valuable Portuguese heritage for the enjoyment and benefit of everyone;

To promote the understanding and appreciation of the culture, arts, and heritage of all the people in the United States, especially in the County and State of Hawaii;

To cooperate with other organizations in displaying the blend of various cultures which make our Island and our State unique.
